Welcome,
As the new President of the VICA I want to thank the Past President Peter Nordlinger and the other board members, Lowell Ann Fuglsang, Jo-Ann Youmans and Ingrid Bergmann for the wonderful work they have done during the last year. But also a special thank you to Anneli Driessen and John Burr for their ongoing support in the background.
When I moved from Holland to Canada my fist contact with VICA was a telephone call from Anneli to invite me for a meeting in Victoria. It felt as if I was always here. VICA members welcomed me as if I was an old friend. It’s good to feel welcome in a new country and to experience that you can make a difference wherever you are. Anneli invited me to be a part of the Executive Team of VICA and I have never regretted it! I experienced that the quickest way to learn new things was to start at the top! I’m very proud to be the President this year and together with my Leadership Team we are planning to create another memorable year.
The current members of my Leadership Team are: Peter Nordlinger, Lowell Ann Fuglsang, Jo-Ann Youmans, Rob Sinclair and Fern Schultz . There are still some positions open, in particular the positions as Vice President or Pro-D Chair. Whether you are a seasoned Coach or you are new to the field of Coaching I highly recommend being a member of the VICA Leadership Team. It is a very special life and learning experience! It will give you new perspectives and also provide some extra personal exposure for you as a Coach.
My goal for this year is to create an environment to meet each other, to connect, to network and in particular to start more working together. In West Europe coaching is well respected and accepted. It’s because of all the efforts coaches put into promoting their profession. There are big changes for all of us especially now with all the crisis worldwide. This is the time that people have to find new possibilities and ways to get back on track. As coaches we can help them to do so! As we stand up as a group it will be easier for them to find us. Every Coach here on the Island has his/her own specialities and background and there is work enough for all of us. Working together will benefit us all. Attending our social meetings on the second Friday of each month will be a good step in this direction!
