Nicknamed, \"the courageous coach,\" by her coaching peers, Kathy was trained by The Coaches Training Institute, one of North America\'s top two coach training organizations. She is currently going through the International Coaching Federation\'s certification process and will complete certification in early 2008.

Kathy thrives on having a diverse client base, including realtors, business consultants, artists, educators and cancer survivors. Her years as a journalist has given her a powerful ability to read between the lines and to hear what isn\'t being said. Clients report that she is gentle AND firm, insightful, has a great sense of humour and is great at bottom lining. While Kathy believes that creating your best life is a serious matter, coaching itself doesn\'t always have to be. She is committed to nothing but the best for her clients.

Kathy believes that everything she has done in her life has led her to coaching and that her vast experiences and diverse careers give her incredible range as a coach. Some of these experiences include a stint in Afghanistan in 2005, (hence the nickname) where she worked as an editor while living and working on a military base with 5,000 soldiers. Kathy began her working life as a social worker, moved into sales and marketing, became a journalist and columnist for a daily newspaper and then moved into public relations before starting her coaching business. During these careers, she rubbed shoulders with and created relationships with a variety of individuals, ranging from juvenile delinquents to movie stars and ambassadors.

A cancer diagnosis in 1999, the same year that her Mother\'s cancer metastasized, left her with an urgency about life that she conveys to her clients. After being diagnosed, she redesigned her life; quit a secure government job to do humanitarian work in war-torn Sierra Leone, sailed through the Caribbean and the Bahamas and built a home before starting coach training.

Like her clients, she believes she is a work in progress. In her spare time she is a voracious reader, loves to hike, cycle, sail and travel. She is currently looking for a 12-step program for people who travel too much.

This year, Kathy was interviewed on CBC Radio\'s All Point\'s West show and on CHEK TV\'s Your Say about creating New Year\'s Resolutions that last. In April 2007, she was quoted in The Times Colonist newspaper in an article about The Law of Attraction and was featured in an article about life after cancer in the Victoria News and on A Channel TV about her life as a cancer survivor. Her book review of the book The Secret was featured in an April edition of Victoria\'s Business Examiner.
